NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Coast Guard has moved cleanup of Louisiana's coast to a new phase, allowing BP to end its "active" efforts in the area. The move just days before the fourth anniversary of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster and oil spill completes a cleanup operation that ended in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi last June.

PHOENIX (AP) - A judge in Phoenix will hold a hearing today in which lawyers for former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper will challenge the evidence used to keep him in jail without bail on sexual-assault charges in Arizona. The hearing marks the latest development in several ongoing sexual-assault investigations involving the 38-year-old Sharper in Louisiana, California, Florida, Arizona and Nevada.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued three crew members aboard a towing vessel taking on water and reportedly grounded in Lake Pontchartrain (PON'-chuh-train). Coast Guard Sector New Orleans' command center received a report yesterday that the UTV Todd Michael was grounded on rocks near the Lakefront Airport with three people aboard.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Republican U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister says he will steer clear of public events until he returns to Washington at the end of Congress' Easter break. Last week a video surfaced that showed the father of five kissing a married aide.
