2 arrested in "shake and bake" meth lab operation

Labadieville, La. - Two men were arrested in connection with a crystal meth lab operation in Assumption Parish.   A search warrant was conducted on a home on Highway 1011 near Labadieville by narcotics agents with both the Assumption Parish Sheriff's office and Louisiana State Police.

Investigators say numerous items were discovered at the home consistent with the manufacturing of a crystal meth lab in what is known as a "shake and bake" meth lab.

34 year old Neil J. Templet of Napoleonville was arrested and booked on the following charges: creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory, 2 counts of possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances {marijuana and psilocybin (mushrooms)}, 2 counts of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances (crystal meth and adderall) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Templet's bond was set at $101, 446 and he has since bonded out.

31 year old Ryan P. Simoneaux, also of Labadieville, was also arrested and booked with operation of a clandestine laboratory and his bond was set at $50,000 and is still incarcerated at the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

A woman who investigators say was six months pregnant,  identified as Cherie Coco Martinez, was at the home at the time of the search.  She was issued a misdemeanor summons of possession of drug paraphernalia.
