After dropping three close games over the weekend to No.15 Central Florida, the Tulane baseball team scored early and often in their 10-3 victory over Northwestern State on Tuesday afternoon on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
"Today's game was workman like, but I thought Byo pitched well and Andrew Garner really gave us a lift when it was still a tight ball game," said head coach Rick Jones. "He did a nice job to keep that runner at third base from scoring (in the seventh inning). We ended up with fourteen hits and we were more patient at the plate today. I thought we did a better job getting good swings on fastballs, getting in better fastball hitting counts and putting better swings on (the fastball)."
Tulane is on the road this weekend for three games at East Carolina, starting with Friday night's 6:30 first pitch.
