Report: LSU President Lombardi's job in jeopardy

Baton Rouge, La. - Sources tell WBRZ News 2 LSU System President John Lombardi could be on the way out at this afternoon's Board of Supervisors meeting.

An item added to the end of today's agenda calls for Presidential Succession Planning and Action.

The Daily Reveille reports Lombardi also cancelled an appearance last night at a discussion about budget cuts with Chancellor Michael Martin and members of Student Government.

Lombardi became president in 2007, and since his arrival has had to navigate numerous state budget cuts to higher education.

The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. News 2 will have the latest developments tonight, and right here at WBRZ.com.
