JPSO deputy fired for violating code of conduct

Jefferson, La. - A Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputy has been fired for violating the department's code of conduct after he recorded a video "spoof" of President Obama and a local attorney and posted it on YouTube.

A spokesman for the JPSO says deputy Julius Cosey was wearing his official JPSO badge, a shirt emblazoned with the JPSO shield as well as his service weapon.

A statement released says it was, "in violation of the JPSO Code of Conduct which specifically prohibits such use outside of the JPSO. "

Julius Cosey joined the JPSO in February 2007.  He was originally assigned to the JPCC, reassigned to our IT Section October 2009 and in February 2011 reassigned to the JPSO Third District Patrol Division.
