Metairie, La. - A vehicle pursuit that started in New Orleans ended with a crash in Metairie.

New Orleans police say the pursuit started at 40th Street and Bellaire Drive, where officers noticed 18-year-old Drew Thompson and a second man allegedly trying to break into vehicles.

The two men jumped into a car and drove towards Metairie.

A Jefferson Parish sheriff's spokesman says the pursuit ended, when the car crashed into a New Orleans police unit in the 4000 block of Division Street.

The vehicle continued for another block, when Thompson jumped out and fled, deputies said.

Officers caught Thompson in the 4200 block of Hessmer Avenue.

They are still looking for the second man.  Thompson will be booked in Jefferson Parish with resisting arrest by violence and multiple traffic offenses.

There is no word on whether the men face charges in New Orleans.
