Twin brothers die when car lands in bayou

ST. JAMES, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say 26-year-old twins from St. John the Baptist Parish died when their car swerved across U.S. 61 and flipped into a bayou.

Trooper Russell G. Graham II says Drew and Darryl Bourgeois of Mount Airy both were thrown out of their Pontiac G6 before it sank south of Interstate 10 in St. James Parish.

He says the twins had been missing since Saturday morning, and a relative called early Sunday.

Graham says Drew Bourgeois was driving south when the car spun across the median and northbound lanes, landing on its passenger side in the water and sinking to the bottom.

He says Gonzales Fire Department rescue divers found the car and kept searching for the bodies after it was pulled out. Both bodies were found.
