Suspect identified in Houma murder

Houma, La. - Houma police detectives are looking for a 22 year old man who they believe shot and killed another man Tuesday night.  After interviewing witnesses, police have identified Jerome Anthony Jones as the suspect in the shooting death of Ron Pierre.  Pierre was shot several times in his trailer at the Whispering Oaks Trailer Park around 8:30 PM on Tuesday. Police believe the murder was a result of a disagreement between Pierre and Jones over an illegal drug buy.

Police say Jones has a tattoo on the right side of his neck with the word "MOB" and another under right eye, displaying the initials "WC".   Arrest warrants have been obtained for Jones for one (1) count of first degree murder and one (1) count of attempted first degree murder. A bond was set at $2,000,000.

Jones remains at large, therefore anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Houma Police at 873-6371 or Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.  Police advise that anyone who sees him should use caution and not approach him.
