Metairie woman killed in early morning crash

Metairie, La.- Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, 59-year-old Denise Seither struck a utility pole and crashed into a wooden fence near the intersection of West Napoleon Avenue and North Arnoult Road.

Witnesses say Seither was traveling eastbound on West Napoleon Avenue when her SUV veered to the left striking a raised curb on the north side of the roadway.

Investigators say her vehicle then veered to the right, struck a utility pole and came to a stop after crashing into a wooden fence.

Seither was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate Seither may have suffered some type of medical problem during the accident.

An autopsy will be preformed by the Jefferson Parish Coroner's office to determine the exact cause of death.

In the meantime, this crash remains under investigation.
