Impaired driver rear-ends school bus, 12 students injured

New Orleans, La. - A morning school bus accident sent 12 students to the hospital, according to police.

The accident happened at Orleans Avenue and N. Dupre around 7:15am.

New Orleans Police say 41-year Dennis Larue rear ended the bus carrying 18 students.

During the investigation Larue was given a standard field sobriety test where it deemed him impaired.

Twelve students were transported to local hospitals complaining of non-life threatening  injuries.  

Larue will be booked with Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Following too close.
