Harvey, La. - Archie Jefferson has surrendered to Jefferson Parish authorities.

"He will be booked into the JPCC with Contractor Fraud as discussed during today's News Conference," reads a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Newell Norman confirmed during a Wednesday afternoon news conference that an arrest warrant was issued against Jefferson.

The warrant, which was issued on May 17, alleges contractor fraud against Jefferson in connection with construction work his company was doing on a house in Marrero. The contractor fraud charges involve $14,000 worth of work that was never completed.

Jefferson was picked up by the New Orleans Police Department in early May on a traffic attachment after he refused to answer questions regarding the murder of his wife, Sandra Jefferson. She was found dead in the family home, killed by blunt force trauma to the head.
