Industrial accident kills Houma man

HOUMA, La. (AP) - A 52-year-old Houma man died after a structure collapsed on top of him while at work.

Terrebonne Parish sheriff's deputies tell The Courier Timothy James Morvant was tacking a bearing block on a winch wall, and the structure collapsed on top of him.

The accident occurred Monday at the Oil States International plant.

Deputies say Morvant was taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center, and later transferred to a hospital in Baton Rouge where he died.
