New life for Mid-City landmark

New Orleans, La. - City officials are celebrating the completion of a Mid-City landmark.  The Blue Plate Artists Lofts is the area's newest apartment complex in the mid-city area.  Located on the site of the old Blue Plate Mayonnaise factory on S. Jefferson Davis Parkway, the building is home to 72 loft style apartments.

The complex is now a mixed income apartment building with a special emphasis on attracting artists as tenants.  Many of those artists will be showing off their talents at a special dedication happening Thursday evening at 5:30 pm.  Stay tuned for Fox 8 at 9 and 10.
