Terrebonne Parish, La. -- An elderly woman is dead after a car accident in Terrebonne Parish.
According to state troopers, 80-year-old Evans Robinson of Houma was driving a 2009 Dodge Dakota on LA 24 South Thursday afternoon when he struck the back of a Chevrolet Colorado.
The Colorado, driven by 18-year-old Ashton Dehart Jr. of Theriot., was then forced off the left side of the road and struck a camper trailer that was parked on private property. At the same time, the Dakota veered to the right and struck a tree on the passenger side.
66-year-old Sandra Robinson of Houma was riding in the front passenger seat of Robinson's Dakota and was pronounced dead on the scene. Robinson was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and Dehart was not injured.
The accident is currently under investigation.
