Daily mass returns to St. Henry's Church uptown

Mass to be held weekdays at St. Henry's- WVUE FOX 8

New Orleans, La. - A congregation that fought hard to keep its church from closing welcomes the return of mass to St. Henry's church.

Starting Friday morning, the Archdiocese of New Orleans reinstated weekday morning masses at the church on General Pershing.

However, St. Henry's will not open full time and there will be no Sunday masses.

Even this partial reopening is a big step forward for long-time parishioners who were heartbroken when the church closed.

The faithful can attend mass at 6:30 on weekday mornings.

Also, the church is once again available for weddings and funerals
