Former Tulane golfer Michael Thompson leading US Open field

San Francisco, Calif. - Michael Thompson golfed for Tulane for two years before Hurricane Katrina dispersed the team.  Now, he sits atop the leaderboard at the US Open halfway through his second round on the Olympic Club course. 

Two former LSU golfers, David Toms and John Peterson, are on the leaderboard, too.

Here's how the leaderboard stacks out with nine holes left for Thompson:
