Mr. Mardi Gras pitches an idea that may give him the name "Mr. Spooky." While Blaine Kern fights a legal battle against his son for control of his company, he's dreaming up something bigger than ever for future Halloweens.
"We can take Halloween in New Orleans and make it an industry as big as Mardi Gras. That's going a long way they call me Mr. Mardi Gras I know what I'm talking about lemme tell ya," Kern said, addressing the media earlier today during a press conference at the Hyatt.
Kern kicked off Halloween parades in the French Quarter back in 2008. Now he's envisioning an entire season in the city geared toward New Orleans' naturally spooky side, hoping to transform Halloween in New Orleans into a $500 million dollar impact.
While Kern says since he doesn't have the 'float building' company, he hopes to use his connections to get floats from other places. Kern says he already has a group of hundreds interested in being part of a month-long party.
