Updated:

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A 28-year-old Baton Rouge man charged with allegedly hitting and killing a bicyclist with his car earlier this year has pleaded not guilty.

WBRZ TV reports Joseph Branch entered his plea Tuesday in state district court in Baton Rouge.

Investigators say Branch had a .307 percent blood alcohol content when he hit and killed Nathan Crowson in February on Perkins Road.

The legal limit in Louisiana is a blood alcohol content of .08 percent.

Daniel Morris was also hit by Branch and was in the hospital for several months.

Branch was charged with second offense DWI and vehicular homicide.
