New Orleans, La. - New Orleans police release a surveillance picture of a teen they say robbed a woman at gunpoint, then fired a shot at her as she ran for help.
It happened around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon at the corner of Dublin and Zimple in the West Carrollton neighborhood, near the Oak Street commercial area. Police say the woman was walking back to her Mercedes SUV when a teenager wearing a black fishermen's hat walked up to her with a gun.
The teen demanded the woman's purse and keys and officers say she threw them to the ground. Officers say the suspect ordered the woman to pick up her belongings but she took off running in the direction of Oak Street.
The teen fired a shot in the woman's direction before taking off in her SUV, according to police.
Investigators found the SUV a short time later in the backyard of a home on Cambronne. He was later seen leaving the area in dark colored Jeep Cherokee.
If you recognize this teen call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or Second District Police at 658-6020.
