New Orleans, La.- The New Orleans Police Department is looking for 23-year-old Alex Mendez for an attempted forcible rape in the 600 block of Independence Street last Sunday.

Police say around 2:30 p.m., Mendez met the 34-year-old victim on Frenchmen Street and the next thing the victim could recall was being  inside of an unknown location, being forced onto a bed.

The victim told police Mendez attempted to sexually assault her against her will.

Investigators say Mendez fled the scene in a two-door, red pick-up truck.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mendez is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.

Crimestoppers is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
