New Orleans, La.- A five-year-old boy, identified as Jamarcus Mack, drowned Saturday while swimming in Lake Pontchartrain.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. near the Seabrook Bridge.
Police say Mack was swimming with his family when his mother noticed that he was missing. Family members found the boy and pulled him from the water.
EMT's transported the boy to a local hospital where he died, shortly after 6 p.m.
