Hornets forward Anthony Davis suffers ankle injury

New Orleans, La. - Forward Anthony Davis, the first player taken in the 2012 NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets, suffered a sprained ankle during a workout Saturday.

The injury occurred at the Alario Center, the team's training facility.

The team says his status is day to day as far as practice is concerned, and that his availability to practice with Team USA will be made later this week.

Hornets guard Eric Gordon has also been selected to play for the national team.
