Slidell, La. - Police in Slidell have arrested a woman they say violently robbed an elderly woman Thursday afternoon to get money for drugs.
A spokesman with the Slidell Police Department says it happened around 4:30pm in the Wal-Mart parking lot off Gause Blvd.
Police say the suspect, 30 year-old Karyn Reynolds, injured the woman while trying to steal her purse.
The daughter of the victim says her mother will require surgery to fix a broken wrist.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith said 80 year-old Bernice Delery was in town from California to take a cruise out of New Orleans.
