A shooting in the St. Roch area left one man dead and a teen girl wounded.
"A 19-year-old local man was killed and a 17-year-old local female was injured after a shooting this afternoon in the Saint Roch Neighborhood," reads a news release from NOPD.
A spokesman for the Orleans Parish Coroner identifies the man as Jaquin Pittman.
The shooting happened around 1:45 p.m. in the rear yard of a house in the 2400 block of Arts Street, at N. Rocheblave.
"The victims were in the rear yard of a house when the suspect(s) approached and began firing," reads the NOPD statement. "The man was shot several times and died on the scene. The female had a graze wound to the arm and was transported to the hospital and is listed in good condition."
