Houma, La. -

Terrebonne Parish deputies are investigating the death of an Entergy worker as he was establishing electrical service at a new house in west Houma.

25-year-old Roland Lafont III of Montegut died around midday Thursday at the residence at 22 Carrington Circle in the Southland Woods subdivision.  Deputies got a 911 call about Lafont's death around 12:07 p.m.

"Upon the arrival of deputies, other Entergy employees on site indicated that [Lafont] was working on an outside electrical box when he suddenly collapsed," reads a news release from the Sheriff's Office.  "Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported Lafont to Terrebonne General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter."

The Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office is set to conduct an autopsy Thursday evening to determine the cause of Lafont's death.
