Locals react to Drew Brees signing a new long-term deal

Updated:

New Orleans-- When New Orleans' favorite Saint, Drew Brees takes the field in the Mercedes Benz Superdome Sunday, September 9th, the Who Dat Nation will go wild.

New Orleans native, Jerry Romig congratulates Drew Brees on the new deal.

Romig, is known by "Who Dats" as the New Orleans Saints Public Announcer for home games inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

"This will be my 44-th year with the Saints," says Romig.

Romig like so many New Orleans Saints fans are riding on cloud nine after Brees and the Saints reached record-setting $100 million deal.

"It was almost like going to the Super Bowl," says Assistant General Manager of Walk-Ons Restaurant, Jared Murphy.

"Now with this new contract he might want to consider calling the third baby, if it's a boy... Benson," says Romig.

The man with the voice wants "Who Dats" to get ready for an incredible season.

"First of all, I think we've got an excellent offense because of Drew Brees and we've got good running backs good receivers. It's now a matter of getting that defense set. I think we'll have a very good year. He is the team, in my opinion, he's our leader. He's the offense's captain; he's the star and he keeps that ball moving. What a wonderful opportunity it would be if the Saints are the home team in the Super Bowl. Wouldn't that be great just great," says Romig.
