Police are on the scene of a deadly shooting in Algiers.
It happened around 4:15 Monday afternoon in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive, near Behrman Road.
"Victim is a 19-year-old male," reads a news alert from NOPD. "A officer was driving by and heard the gunshots. He notified the dispatcher. He went to investigate and found the [victim] inside of an apartment shot to the chest. He was pronounced dead on the scene."
We don't know the victim's identity at this point, only that he was a local resident. We still have no information on suspects or what led to the shooting.
