New Orleans, La. - Mayor Mitch Landrieu's son Benjamin, 19, was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of DWI and reckless driving, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.

The website for Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman says that Benjamin Landrieu was charged with reckless driving, driving while intoxicated, and driving on a roadway laned for traffic.

The mayor is expected to address the arrest Tuesday morning, but did release a statement saying, "I love my son. There will be legal consequences for his actions in the court room. And there will be family discussions in our living room.  I have asked that all protocol be followed, and he will be treated just as any other citizen.
