Kenner, LA – Officers with the Kenner Police Department have arrested two men wanted for burglarizing unlocked vehicles in a Kenner subdivision.

Police say that they received a call from a citizen at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday stating that two men were burglarizing vehicles in the Southlake Subdivision.  Responding officers arrived on the scene and were able to arrest the two men after a brief chase. The two men have been identified as 19-year-old Davanta Jenkins of Destrehan and 18-year-old Kyron White of New Sarpy.

Through their investigation, officers have linked Jenkins and White to four vehicle burglaries in the 200 blocks of Cotton Bayou, Legrande Bayou and Cane Bayou. Property recovered from the unlocked vehicles includes a gun, an Iphone, loose change and a tray from one of the vehicles.

Jenkins and White admitted to detectives that they drove from St. Charles Parish to Kenner to burglarize unlocked vehicles. The two have been charged with four counts of simple burglary. They remain in police custody.
