New Orleans, La. - Residents and businesses in Venetian Isles and on Chef Menteur Highway from Industrial Parkway to Ft. McComb Road will not have water restored Tuesday as expected due to an unrelated break in a 12-inch water main caused by a telephone company contractor working in the area.

Because of this new break, the lines must be flushed again and samples must be tested pushing back by one day restoration of water service.

It is recommended that customers disinfect their water by boiling it for one minute and letting it cool down prior to consumption (including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, bathing or preparing food.)

This boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice for customers in the affected area.
