New Orleans, La.- City and state officials are hosting a public forum on coastal restoration Wednesday, July 18.

A release from Mayor Mitch Landrieu's office says the forum will explore the critical role people in New Orleans can plan in advancing "crucial coastal restoration projects that can strengthen the economy and protect the city from future storms."

The city's coastal and environmental advisor, Charles Allen, will be joined by Garret Graves of the LA Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, Col. Ed Fleming of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Wed Kungel from Senator Mary Landrieu's office.

The Forum called "Protecting our City and Sustaining our Economy" will be held in the conference room of the New Orleans Mosquito Control Board, 2100 Leon C. Simon Boulevard. The Forum begins at 6:30 p.m.
