Flooding on Basin Street
New Orleans, La. – Business owners scrambled to keep water out of their stores on Basin Street.
Water filled the intersection of Claiborne and Basin Friday and spilled into some businesses.
City workers brought sandbags and put up barricades to keep people from driving through the flooded areas but it wasn't enough to keep water out of the Temple Shop.
Owner Chris Taylor says the street has flooded before but the water rarely gets so high.
"I've never seen that much rain, rain that long," he says. "Most times we get a little rain, the sun comes back out, it be over with but now, this is like a steady thing."
