Man accused of trying to kill parents

FRANKLIN, La. (AP) - A 36-year-old man has been arrested after his parents were found with their throats cut.

WAFB TV reports (http://bit.ly/PcxYvD ) Eric Vining of Franklin was arrested at his home around 2 p.m. Monday.

Deputies said they responded to a 911 hang up from the home and found the suspect's mother and father had been cut on the throat.

The couple is being treated at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.

Their names were not released by authorities.

Vining was booked into the parish prison on two counts of attempted second-degree murder. No bond has been set.

It's not clear whether Vining has an attorney.
