NOPD issues arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr.

New Orleans, La.  New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr. after the actor allegedly pushed a bartender twice in a French Quarter bar early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened in the 200 block of Bourbon Street around 3 a.m.  TMZ has identified the establishment as The Old Absinthe House.  A female bartender reportedly told officers that Gooding entered the bar with a group of people, and after a few minutes, other customers recognized him and started asking him to take photos with them.

The bartender told officers that Gooding soon became very aggravated with them.  That's when she reportedly approached him and asked him to calm down.

According to the NOPD, Gooding then allegedly pushed her away with an open hand.  One of the bartender's co-workers then called 9-1-1.  At that point, the bartender says she informed Gooding that the police were on the way, and that he needed to leave.  Gooding then allegedly pushed her again, and left the bar.

New Orleans police have obtained an arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr. for municipal battery.

The NOPD has been in contact with the attorney for Cuba Gooding, Jr.  His attorney, Peter Toumbekis of New York, has said Mr. Gooding is taking necessary actions to address the matter.
