Governor Jindal heads to Colorado for speaker series

Updated:

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal is traveling to Colorado to mingle with other prominent Republican governors who are among those mentioned as potential running mates for Mitt Romney.

Jindal is scheduled Wednesday evening to be part of a speaker series with GOP governors hosted by The Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan educational and policy think tank headed by Walter Isaacson, a Louisiana native.  The institute's website mentions Jindal as a participant in the event.

Among the other governors included in the event are Chris Christie of New Jersey, Nikki Haley of South Carolina, Bob McDonnell of Virginia, and Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

Jindal's office hasn't announced the specific travel plans, but said the governor is in Colorado for a Republican Governor's Association meeting.
