Doctors: Lafourche man accused of killing, dismembering son competent to stand trial

Thibodaux, La. - Doctors believe a Thibodaux man accused of killing and dismembering his disabled 7-year-old son is competent to stand trial.

Court documents show that doctors treating Jeremiah Wright say he exaggerated illnesses to avoid trial.

Wright was found incompetent to stand trial following the death of his son, Jori Lirette last year.

Police say Wright murdered the 7-year-old, who suffered from cerebral palsy, then decapitated him and put the boy's head on a sidewalk in front of their home.

A judge scheduled another sanity hearing for Wright on September 21st.
