Metairie, LA - As the son of a Pro Bowl wide receiver, Nick Toon has always been in the spotlight.
"It feels normal to me," Toon said. "I don't know any different; this has always been my situation. The pressures I feel have always been there, so this feels normal to me.
But now he's living his dream of playing in the NFL. Wednesday may have been his best day yet as a young professional.
Toon made the play of practice when he caught a fade route from Drew Brees with a corner draped all over him.
"It was pretty good day," Toon said. "My job is to catch the ball. Whenever the ball gets up there I'm going to do everything I can to go out there and make a play."
Toon is in the mix for the fourth wide receiver on the Saints roster but he'll have to earn it. Adrian Arrington and Joe Morgan have both had solid camps as well.
"Great receivers, not only those guys but the rest of the guys here," Toon said. "There's a lot of talent at that wide receiver position. When there are a lot of good players, it elevates everyone's game. You got to go out there and compete."
If there's one thing he's learned from his father, it's that.
