Lil Wayne opening Lower 9th Ward skate park

New Orleans, La. - Local skateboarders will have a new place to ride, thanks to Lil' Wayne.

The rapper announced plans Thursday to open a skate park in the Lower 9th Ward. Lil' Wayne partnered with Mountain Dew and a sports youth development agency, STOKED, for the new park.

An architect with the Make it Right Foundation will design the state of the art park that has eco-friendly features. The design of the park will put the he ramps and pipes placed to look like the historic community.

Lil' Wayne's skate park will open August 29.
