New Orleans, La. - The family of Derrick Howard Jr. has marched through the 7th Ward six times. They are desperate for answers.
At the corner of North Broad and D'Abadie, police found Howard and another man shot to death several times inside of a truck.
That was more than six months ago, on January 26, but time has done nothing to help Howard's mother cope.
"Because he was my son.... and I don't know how I make it at times," says Carolyn Miller.
Even with a Crimestoppers reward in the case, no one is calling.
"We've done vigils and we walk all the time," says Yolanda Miller, Howard's aunt.
Worn-out flyers are still stapled to the pole where police found Howard's body.
A family on the North Shore also feels the frustration of few leads in a loved one's murder, despite Crimestoppers' help.
"The family and friends of the family and one particular donor added to this reward, and now the reward is $27,500.00," says Darlene Cusanza of Crimestoppers.
It's one of the biggest rewards in recent history, for tips leading police to the person responsible for killing Bruce Cucchiara. On April 24, someone shot and killed Cucchiara in the parking lot of the Mark Seven Apartment Complex off Chef Highway in New Orleans East.
"It looked like an apparent robbery and he was shot and they found his body next to his pickup truck," says Cusanza.
There's a sketch of a possible suspect, but even with a huge reward in the case, tips are not coming in.
The NOPD says there are no new leads in either of the cases.
