Kenner, La. - Former New Orleans city councilman Jon Johnson's legal troubles grow.
He faces a new criminal charge for allegedly stealing a rental car just before hurricane Katrina.
He turned himself in to Kenner Police this week on the outstanding warrant.
He allegedly rented a car on August 21st 2005 and never returned it.
A judge issued a warrant for Johnson in January of 2006.
Friday, Johnson's attorney contacted the police department about the warrant and turned himself in Tuesday.
Johnson pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges for theft of federal rebuilding funds.
