New Orleans, LA – The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old girl in the 7^th Ward. The incident occurred Saturday around 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Frenchman and North Derbigny Streets.

Police say that the teen was riding in her mother's car near the intersection of Frenchman and North Derbigny Streets, when they heard gunfire. After traveling about a half of a block down the road, the girl realized that she had been shot in the leg. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is listed in good condition.

Officers continue to investigate the shooting. If you have any information that could help police, you are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.
