New Orleans, La. - With only six months away from New Orleans hosting the Super Bowl, the host committee says it will need many volunteers to get the job done.
As many as 8,000 volunteers will be needed to pull off the big event that will have the eyes of the world on New Orleans .
On FOX 8 News Tuesday morning, one of the host committee members talked about the effort so far to raise the close to $14 million to host the Super Bowl.
"It's public and private funds. The state of Louisiana through tourism gave us a $6 million grant to off set the cost," says Jay Cicero.
One of the first big events that volunteers can help with is the Saints 'Back to Football' 5-K run Saturday, September 8th.
It will go around the Superdome and finish on the 50 yard line. Money raised will go towards hosting the committee.
