Gonzales, La. - Former Governor Edwin Edwards and wife, Trina are making plans to expand their family.

Trina Scott Edwards tells FOX 8 they've been discussing it for awhile. Now, they plan to take steps to make it happen using in vitro fertilization with Edwards frozen sperm in October.

Trina Edwards says, "We both love each other and when two people love each other and they're married it's natural to want a child and that's what we want to do."

Trina Scott Edwards has two boys from a previous marriage and now says she would like a daughter.

She says Edwin Edwards has already picked out names and he's not budging, "If it's a girl, Evangeline. If it's a boy, Gabriel."

Edwin Edwards, 85, has four children from his first marriage.
