Police are at the scene of a shooting Wednesday evening in the Gert Town area.

It happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Olive and Fern Streets. NOPD confirms that a female, age unknown, was shot to the abdomen.

We do not know the victim's identity, and police have yet to report a suspect or a motive.
