CNN - Just when you thought your smart phone couldn't come more in handy -- now you can use it on your daily coffee run to Starbucks and leave your cash at home.
Starbucks is partnering with Square, a start-up that allows shoppers to pay for items with their smartphones.
Starting this fall, at 7,000 Starbucks locations, you can pay with a simple scan of a barcode on the app.
In the future, you'll be able to tell the cashier your name and like magic -- it's paid for.
Starbucks is the first big chain to partner with Square.
