Houma, La. - Houma Police have arrested a 21 year old man, accused of burglarizing a bar after it closed. Investigators say Elvin Kenny hid inside of the Brickhouse Lounge on Main Street after it closed, then grabbed cash and tried to escape.
Houma Police say they were notified Thursday morning, shortly before 4 am, of a man in a red shirt, trying to break out of a window of the Brickhouse Lounge.
Upon arrival, officers began patrolling the area and noticed the suspect trying to hide under the Main Street overpass. The suspect began to run, and officers chased him on foot for a brief time until he was apprehended at the intersection of New Orleans Blvd and Main Street.
Kenny was arrested for simple burglary, resisting by refusing to make ID known, and resisting an officer by flight. He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail where he was incarcerated awaiting trial or bond.
