As a very early season cold front makes its way south, showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous in the New Orleans area for Thursday and Friday.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...AND DEADLY CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
Nearly everyone will end up under a heavy shower with a lot of lightning.
Gusty winds near the storms will also be an issue. Storms will linger through the early evening and into Friday.
Saturday morning the front will push south of the coast into the Gulf of Mexico reducing our rain chance to near zero.
