New Orleans District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro says he would be surprised if NOPD Officer Joshua Colclough pleads guilty today to charges related to the fatal shooting of an unarmed teen.
Colclough, who has not been charged in the shooting of Wendell Allen, was expected to plead guilty in court today as part of a plea bargain agreement.
According to a source, FOX 8 News reported that Colclough had agreed to plead guilty to charges of negligent homicide in exchange for a 5 year prison term.
However, Cannizzaro now says that it's doubtful Colclough will indeed appear in court on Wednesday.
Appearing this morning on FOX 8 News morning show, Cannizzaro says it's likely the DA's office will take action in the case sometime this week, which could indicate that charges will formally be filed against the officer.
