Covington, La. -- A Covington High School student was taken to a hospital after getting into a fight at school.
Officers responded to a call reporting that two boys were fighting on the high school campus at 7:30 Thursday morning.
When they arrived on the scene, police found one of the boys suffering from serious injuries as a result of the fight, said a police spokesman. That student was taken to a St. Tammany Parish hospital and was later transported to a hospital in New Orleans.
The other student involved in the fight was taken to a Florida Parish juvenile detention center and was booked with attempted second degree murder and second degree robbery.
Police say that no weapons were involved and the condition of the injured student is unknown.
No other details were released.
