Man dies after tree falls on his truck

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge police say a tree that fell over on a pickup truck fatally injured the driver.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely tells The Advocate that the accident happened around 11:34 a.m. Saturday.

McKneely says 66-year-old Nathaniel Evans Jr. of Baton Rouge was driving north on College Drive when a tree fell on the cab of his truck.

Evans died at the scene.

McKneely says police believe severe weather caused the tree to fall over.
